Wouter Haumont

Attorney

Wouter has been a member of the Cazimir team since 2024 and is affiliated with the Brussels Bar.

Education

Wouter started his law studies at KU Leuven in 2018. Here he obtained a bachelor's degree in 2021, followed by a master's degree with distinction in 2023. For his master's thesis entitled “Access compensation in the new property law: A successful legislative initiative or a missed opportunity?” he was crowned third laureate of the Jura Falconis Prize, after which it was published in the regular magazine. After his law studies, he delved further into taxation through the postgraduate 'Tax Law & Tax Practice' at the Fiscale Hogeschool in Brussels, where he graduated with distinction in 2024.

During his studies, Wouter got a taste of the practice through various summer internships at both law and consultancy firms. As a working student in a law firm, he supplemented his final year of study with a weekly dose of practical experience.

"Beginnings always hide themselves in ends."

Leisure

In his free time, Wouter likes to look for a balance between effort and relaxation. He regularly goes cycling and plays snooker or puts on his walking shoes for a brisk walk, but he also likes to sit on the couch with a good book or a cool series, together with his cat 'Whisky'.
